Ibu Cerdas Berdaya literally translated to ‘Smart Empowered Mother’. It was founded as legal institution for Buibu Baca Buku, a community aiming to empower Indonesian women, especially mothers, through literacy and critical thinking skills. In 2023, Ibu Cerdas Berdaya started its climate initiative, and launched Climate Literacy for Mothers in 2024.

Started as an online book club for women in 2018, Buibu Baca Buku has now organically evolved as non-profit organization with solid community of 2,000+ members and 45,000+ audiences on social media, @bbbbookclub.
Buibu Baca Buku regularly held book talks and discussions, webinar, workshops, book review competitions, reading challenge, and consistently shares book recommendation from diverse genre and authors.
Empowered Mother Empowers
Through Buibu Baca Buku and Climate Literacy for Mothers program, until end of 2024, we have empowered 7,000+ participants all over Indonesia with our programs and reached millions of views on social media.
Scaling our impact through collaboration
We believe in the power of community and collective action. Until the end of 2024, we have collaborated with 150+ entities working in education and literacy, parenting, women empowerment, climate, and public policy.
Climate Literacy for Mothers
Since 2023, we have started to see the issue of climate change and energy transition as a topic that should be mainstreamed among mothers to ensure that the progress can be driven by this group and that the policy direction caters to the needs of different communities represented by this group of mothers.
We aim for more mothers to get engaged in climate action ensuring their perspectives, concerns, and ideas are included in any systemic change.
